A happy Antonio Habas Lopez has decided to move on from their domineering 5-0 win over Hyderabad FC focusing on the next game and stating that his side cannot win 5-0 every game. Praising Edu Garcia for his late brace that put the result beyond doubt, the manager refused to pick individuals.

After a narrow loss to Kerala Blasters saw the two-time champions starting their ISL campaign in quite a sceptical manner, the Kolkata side was back to doing what their brilliant transfer window had got the fans excited about.

The first half saw David Williams and Roy Krishna scoring three in the first half at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata, which had almost wrapped up the game in the first 45 minutes itself. However, ATK didn’t stop there and Edu Garcia was seen scoring a brace in the second half as well.

“I am very happy about the performance of the team, especially how we played in the first 45 minutes. We have to continue maintaining those levels. Next match, we play against Chennaiyin FC and now, I am thinking about that,” said Habas at the post-match press conference, reported ISL website.

“Football is like this. One day you lose, the other day, you win. It’s important that the team keeps scoring. The confidence will be there now. We need to respect our opponents and continue working. We can’t relax. We can’t win 5-0 every day. It’s impossible,” he added.

After playing a significant role in the team last season, Garcia has taken a back seat in Habas’ stint making more bench appearances. However, he proved his mettle on Friday with some clinical finishing and the coach had to admire his performance.

“I don’t like to talk about individual players. It’s good that Edu Garcia scored tonight. The more players score, it’s better for the team. I don’t like to differentiate between the Indian players and the foreign players. It’s a 24-member squad and we need to work as a team,” added Habas.
