2022 World Cup Qualifiers | Igor Stimac announces probable 29 for camp ahead of Bangladesh tie

Indian national team coach Igor Stimac announced a probable 29-member squad for the camp ahead of the World Cup Qualifier against Bangladesh on October 15. India lost their opening tie to Oman but came back with a brilliant display against Qatar in the following match, holding them to a 0-0 draw

Under 17 World Cup star Amarjit Singh Kiyam has been left out due to an ailing injury including ATK striker Jobby Justin. Among other exclusions include forward Jeje Lalpekhlua, midfielders Michael Soosairaj, Rowlin Borges, Pronay Halder, defender Salam Ranjan Singh and custodian Vishal Kaith for the Indian camp ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifying game aginst Bangladesh.

India is scheduled to host their neighbours at the iconic Salt Lake Stadium and this is the first time India will be playing at the venue after a gap of eight years. It was back on November 16, 2011, that India played against Malaysia in Kolkata which resulted in a 3-2 win for the hosts. 

India is currently at the fourth position in Group 'B' with just a single point from two matches. On the other hand, Qatar is at the top with four points from the same number of matches. 

The probable 29-member squad for the camp ahead of Bangladesh tie:

Goalkeepers: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Amrinder Singh, Kamaljit Singh.

Defenders: Pritam Kotal, Nishu Kumar, Rahul Bheke, Sandesh Jhingan, Adil Khan, Narender, Sarthak Golui, Anas Edathodika, Anwar Ali (Jr.), Mandar Rao Dessai, Subhasish Bose, Jerry Lalrinzuala

Midfielders: Udanta Singh, Nikhil Poojary, Vinit Rai, Anirudh Thapa, Abdul Sahal, Raynier Fernandes, Brandon Fernandes, Halicharan Narzary, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Ashique Kuruniyan

Forwards: Sunil Chhetri, Balwant Singh, Manvir Singh, Farukh Choudhary
