Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has admitted that the team’s form has been brutally affected by the uncertainty of various players’ future at the club. The team remains unsettled as futures of core first-team players like Danny Rose, Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld hangs in the air.

The first-team trio of Eriksen, Rose and Alderwiereld were set to leave the club this summer but instead, they still remain at the club. Central defender Jan Vertonghen was absent from the Spurs squad at the beginning of the season for what the defender described as ‘tactical reasons’. His contract is set to expire next summer and Kane feels these events have disrupted the team’s equilibrium.

In an exclusive interview, Kane told Soccer Saturday that he believes while the window has affected the club, they're all trying to move in the right direction and help Tottenham survive now.

"Obviously in the transfer window just gone, there were players who maybe wanted to leave, and it was public knowledge that there were players close to leaving who stayed. So it's never easy when you have a situation like that, but now that's closed, we all just want to move in the right direction. Whoever is on the pitch has to give everything for the club, that's all we can ask for. You have to kind of put your individual needs to one side and make sure you're performing to the highest level, because that will help your individual status anyway," said the Spurs striker to Soccer Saturday.

Spurs sit 7th after picking just 8 points from 6 league games. The North London team has just won two games so far and Kane has failed to understand the reason behind this slow start.

"It's hard to put a finger on it," he said. "We feel like we're training well, doing everything right, but maybe we haven't started games with the right energy. The Palace game (which Tottenham won 4-0) was the best example of how we should start; on the front foot and pressing, ruthless with chances, and that's what we've done in previous seasons, especially at home," concluded the striker.
