Anthony Gordon reveals his £60 million deal to Chelsea was close to the signing before he went to Newcastle United for £45 million. Gordon was willing to work with Thomas Tuchel, as they now work together for England in the UEFA Nations League.

The UEFA Nations League is now underway as England will be going against Greece in their upcoming encounter. Anthony Gordon has been given all the media duties for the England team before this game, as he discussed a lot of topics along with Lee Carsley during the interviews.

Anthony Gordon also talked about the potential £60 million for six months offer he received from Chelsea and was very close to signing the deal. However, he went to Newcastle United for just £45 million during 2023. Talking about this deal, he said that the main reason he wanted to sign was to get a chance to work with Thomas Tuchel. Since Tuchel is now the football manager for England, he'll be working with him for the UEFA Nations League.

In the interview, Anthony Gordon said,“I spoke to him (Tuchel) after the game, when I played for Everton and we played Chelsea. I shook his hand. That was about it. He said some really complimentary things to me, which I’ll keep to myself. But, yeah, I spoke to him and I felt a lot of warmth from him, which then made me really want to play for him. I didn’t get that chance.”

He also talked about his injury concerns as he walked off the game at Nottingham Forest, where the team won. But the fans were surprised that he didn't take a rest from the international duties and despite his hip issue, he'll be ready for the team in the upcoming matches.
