Bayern Munich and England star Harry Kane says he has only asked for three shirt swaps in his career, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi. While he secured Rooney and Ronaldo’s jerseys, Messi’s eluded him. The 2024-25 season saw Kane finally win silverware, lifting the Bundesliga title with Bayern.

As the record goalscorer for both Tottenham Hotspur and the England national team, Harry Kane has faced many of the game’s biggest stars during his career at club and international level. Now playing for Bayern Munich, the prolific striker has competed in the Premier League, Champions League, European Championships and World Cup finals, but has rarely asked opponents for their shirts.

Kane revealed on his Cleats Club channel that he has only made three exceptions to this rule, requesting jerseys from Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. While he successfully obtained shirts from Rooney and Ronaldo, Messi never ended up giving him one. Kane explained that he is always willing to swap shirts if asked, but personally seeks them only in special cases.

His stature in the game has made him a popular choice for swaps among rivals. In the 2024-25 season, Kane enjoyed a significant milestone by ending his long wait for major silverware, helping Bayern secure the Bundesliga title. His humility and respect for fellow players remain a hallmark of his career, and his rare shirt swap requests reflect the high regard he has for the select few footballers he considers among the greatest in history.
