In the ongoing I-League 2024-25 season, Gokulam Kerala FC secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Dempo Sports Club on January 14, 2025, extending their unbeaten run to five matches. The match saw Gokulam climb to second place in the table, while Dempo continued their dismal form, suffering a fourth consecutive defeat.

The first half saw both teams create chances, with Dempo's Shubham Rawat hitting the crossbar in the 7th minute. Gokulam responded with Adama Niane and Ignacio Loyola testing the Dempo goalkeeper Ashish Sibi. Despite several opportunities, neither side managed to break the deadlock before halftime.

The second half was dominated by Gokulam, but their inability to finish left the match tense. Sibi's heroics kept Dempo in the game, including a double save in the 51st minute. However, Gokulam finally broke through in the 86th minute. Substitute Martin Chaves set up Abhijith K, who had just entered the field, and he fired a powerful shot into the roof of the net to seal the win.

The result means Gokulam Kerala continue their impressive form, while Dempo remain at the bottom, still searching for their first win of the season.
