Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks to appoint Napoli’s head of scouting, Maurizio Micheli, to their recruitment team.

Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks to appoint Napoli’s head of scouting, Maurizio Micheli, to their recruitment team. The 57-year-old, credited with discovering stars like Kvaratskhelia, Kim Min-jae, and Hamsik, could join Andrea Berta’s setup as the Gunners strengthen their backroom staff ahead of the January transfer window.

With the Premier League title race heating up, Arsenal are strengthening not just on the pitch but behind the scenes as well. Reports suggest the club is in advanced talks to appoint Napoli’s highly regarded head of scouting, Maurizio Micheli, to their recruitment team. Micheli, 57, has earned a reputation as one of Italy’s best talent spotters, credited for discovering stars such as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Kim Min-jae, and Marek Hamsik during his tenure at Napoli.

Having joined the Serie A champions in 2010 and returned for a second spell in 2018, his scouting expertise has been central to Napoli’s recent success. This potential move comes under the leadership of Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta, who took charge in March after leaving Atletico Madrid and oversaw a busy summer that brought in eight major signings, including Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Eberechi Eze, and Noni Madueke.

Arsenal currently sit four points clear at the top of the Premier League table, and the addition of Micheli would further enhance their recruitment strategy ahead of the January transfer window. The Gunners appear intent on maintaining their momentum as Mikel Arteta’s side aim to bring the Premier League title back to the Emirates Stadium.
