Juventus, after finishing as Serie A’s third top spenders, are exploring a move for Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva. The 31-year-old midfielder, earning €18m annually and out of contract next June, is represented by Jorge Mendes. Juve may struggle with his high wages, though Silva’s experience and Portugal ties could tempt the Turin giants.

During the summer transfer window, Juventus were relatively quiet until deadline day, when they secured Lois Openda and Edon Zhegrova, finishing as Serie A’s third-highest spenders despite claiming financial limitations. Manager Igor Tudor is now expected to strengthen the squad further in the winter market, prioritizing an experienced midfielder and defender. Among the names linked is Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva, a 31-year-old Portuguese international represented by Jorge Mendes.

Silva, who earns €18 million annually, is out of Juventus’ wage structure, especially with Dusan Vlahovic already their top earner at €12 million per year. Silva has featured in over 400 matches for City since his €50 million move from Monaco in 2017, though he has yet to complete a full 90 minutes this Premier League season. His future remains uncertain, with City open to letting him go when his contract expires in June 2026.

Juventus’ interest is complicated by Silva’s high salary demands, with Mendes likely needing to negotiate a significant reduction. The midfielder, who has played over 100 times for Portugal alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, could bring composure and quality to Turin, though he may yet extend his stay at City depending on Pep Guardiola’s future.
