Argentina Selects Kansas City as 2026 World Cup Base

Argentina will base its 2026 World Cup camp in Kansas City to stay close to early match venues. They debut on June 16 against Algeria at Arrowhead Stadium. Training will take place at Compass Minerals Center, with accommodation at Hotel Origin. The team later plays Austria and Jordan in Dallas.

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaches, the Argentina national football team has finalized its preparations by choosing Kansas City in the United States as its main base for the tournament’s opening phase. Led by coach Lionel Scaloni, the reigning world champions made this strategic decision to stay close to the venues of their early matches. Their first game is scheduled for June 16 at Arrowhead Stadium, where they will face Algeria, making Kansas City an ideal location.

During their stay, the team will train at the Compass Minerals National Performance Center, a modern facility used by Sporting Kansas City. It includes five training fields, advanced sports laboratories, recovery rooms, and medical centers, ensuring players receive top-level support. The delegation will be accommodated at Hotel Origin near the Missouri River, around 15 kilometers from the stadium and 30 kilometers from the training ground.

After their opening match, Argentina will travel to Dallas for their remaining Group J fixtures at AT&T Stadium. They will play Austria on June 22 and Jordan five days later, covering nearly 800 kilometers from their base. With world-class facilities, careful planning, and strong logistics, Argentina aims to defend its 2022 title and perform at the highest level, with Lionel Messi continuing as the team’s key figure.
