Brazilian midfielder Casemiro is close to joining Inter Miami CF after leaving Manchester United. The 34-year-old reportedly chose Miami over other offers despite LA Galaxy holding his MLS discovery rights.

Casemiro scored 9 goals in 33 starts last season and is expected to join the club after representing the Brazil national football team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup

When the summer transfer window opens, Inter Miami could pull off another headline signing by bringing former Manchester United midfielder Casemiro to Major League Soccer. Reports claim the 34-year-old Brazilian has chosen Miami as his preferred destination after leaving Old Trafford, despite receiving interest from several clubs around the world. The move would reunite Casemiro with global stars like Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, adding even more experience to the club’s squad.

However, the transfer is not straightforward because the LA Galaxy currently holds the midfielder’s MLS discovery rights. Under league rules, the Galaxy has first negotiation priority, meaning Miami may need to compensate the club financially to complete the transfer. Another challenge involves Miami’s roster rules and salary structure. With their Designated Player spots already occupied, the club is expected to use a temporary arrangement similar to the one used for Jordi Alba in 2023 before eventually upgrading Casemiro’s contract status later.

Casemiro arrives with an outstanding record in European football, having won 5 UEFA Champions League titles and 3 La Liga trophies with Real Madrid. He also enjoyed a strong final season at Manchester United, scoring 9 goals in 33 starts.
