Shakira released the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, alongside Burna Boy on May 23. The video went viral after Lionel Messi surprisingly spoke in English, saying we are ready.

The anthem also features stars like Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland while promoting unity, resilience, and multicultural spirit ahead of the 2026 tournament.

For the 2026 FIFA World Cup, global music icon Shakira teamed up with Burna Boy to release the official tournament anthem “Dai Dai,” which premiered on May 23 and immediately went viral. The World Cup will be held across the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19, 2026.

The music video grabbed worldwide attention after Lionel Messi surprised supporters by speaking in English, saying “we are ready” alongside stars like Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane, Vinícius Júnior, and Erling Haaland. Fans reacted strongly online because Messi has rarely spoken publicly in any language other than Spanish during his career. This is not Messi’s first appearance in a Shakira World Cup project, as he also featured in “Waka Waka” and “La La La.”

The video additionally highlights the Ghetto Kids Foundation from Uganda, promoting unity, diversity, and empowerment through music and football while honoring legends such as Diego Maradona and Pelé.
