Tamil Thalaivas Sack Coach Sanjeev Baliyan After Controversy-Filled Season

Pro Kabaddi League team Tamil Thalaivas have dismissed head coach Sanjeev Baliyan after finishing 10th in Season 12 with just 12 points. The decision follows internal disputes, including allegations from Baliyan about management interference and the mid-season release of captain Pawan Sehrawat over disciplinary issues. A new coach will be announced soon.

In the Pro Kabaddi League, Tamil Thalaivas have parted ways with their head coach Sanjeev Baliyan following a disappointing season and internal disputes. The franchise confirmed on social media that Baliyan’s contract was terminated with immediate effect after the team finished 10th among 12 sides in Season 12, collecting just 12 points and missing out on the top-eight play-ins.

The management stated that a new coach would be announced soon. The season was marred by controversies, including the mid-season release of star raider and former captain Pawan Sehrawat after the Vizag leg on disciplinary grounds. Sehrawat denied all allegations and demanded proof from the team management. Following the team’s final game, Baliyan accused the management 0of interfering with team selection and claimed that unfit players were given chances.

He and captain Arjun Deshwal also alleged that many decisions were taken by the team analyst. Responding to these claims, the Chennai-based franchise clarified that the coach had complete freedom in player selection, training, and strategy, and that all his requests were fulfilled. The Thalaivas thanked their supporters for standing by the team during this challenging period.
