Sanjay Bangar appointed as batting coach for West Indies tour

The BCCI has appointed Sanjay Bangar, who had coached India during their Zimbabwe tour earlier this month, as the batting coach for the upcoming tour to West Indies. Former Delhi cricketer Abhay Sharma as also been appointed as the fielding coach after consultation with new head coach Anil Kumble.

“In consultation with Mr. Anil Kumble, Head Coach, Indian Cricket Team, the BCCI has appointed the following assistant coaches for the India tour of West Indies – 2016.

“Assistant Coach (Batting) - Mr. Sanjay Bangar

“Assistant Coach (Fielding) – Mr. Abhay Sharma,” read the official press release by the BCCI.

Both Sanjay Bangar and Abhay Sharma were part of the coaching staff during India's recently concluded tour of Zimbabwe, and the duo will now help the new head coach Anil Kumble on his first assignment, when India will travel to West Indies to play in the four-Test series next month.
