Former Australian wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist has expressed his delight on being surprised on his birthday by Sachin Tendulkar when the former visited Sachin at Mumbai. Earlier in the day, many others including Virender Sehwag and Brett Lee also wished Gilchrist on his 45th birthday on Twitter.

Adam Gilchrist and Sachin Tendulkar have been a vital part of clashes between India and Australia for over a decade. But off the field, the duo share great friendship and Monday's incident just proves the camaraderie between the two legends.

Gilchrist, who is in Mumbai as the brand ambassador of University of Wollongong (UOW),  took time off to visit Sachin at his home on the eve of his 45th birthday. But, the Little Master was quick to pleasantly surprise the Aussie legend by bringing in a cake with “Gilly” written on it.

Virender Sehwag was not the one to be left behind, wishing Gilly in his own style.

The list also included Gilchrist's former team mate Brett Lee.

Gilchrist, who was famous for his explosive batting style, played 96 Tests and 287 ODIs for Australia scoring 15,189 runs over the two formats and winning three World Cups.
