IPL 2017 | Kohli could make RCB return after BCCI gives the green light
After the return of AB de Villiers in the game against Kings XI Punjab, Royal Challengers Bangalore have been given some more good news. Virat Kohli has been given a clean bill of health by the BCCI and could feature in RCB's next match against Mumbai Indians at the Chinnaswamy stadium.
The Indian captain had suffered a shoulder injury in the third Test of the India-Australia series that had ruled him out of the final Test in Dharamsala. There were concerns that he might not recover in time to play a major part in RCB's season after stating that he would only take the field if he was a 120% fit. The Indian captain had said that he was going to prioritize the Champions Trophy over the Indian Premier League.
However, in a BCCI press release, the board confirmed that Kohli had completely recovered from the injury and was ready to play a part in the RCB campaign. "The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Medical Team on Wednesday confirmed that Indian Cricket Team and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Mr. Virat Kohli has regained match fitness," read the BCCI release.
"He will now be available for RCB’s next match against Mumbai Indians on April 14 in Bengaluru."
"The Indian Captain had undergone rehabilitation after sustaining an injury to his right shoulder and has now recovered to be able to participate in VIVO IPL 2017."
After just one win in three games, RCB will face Mumbai in their next game tomorrow and with Kohli back in the team, no one would bet against last season's runner-ups starting a winning run.
