Umpiring gaffes have been an increasing problem in the IPL this season with Mumbai Indians at the wrong end of the decisions more often than not. After hitting the last ball of an over for a boundary, David Warner somehow managed to take the strike on the first ball of the next over as well.

The incident occurred in the ongoing match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad during the last powerplay over. On the last ball of the sixth over, facing Jaspit Bumrah, Warner opened the face of the bat late and placed it between point and third man for a boundary taking Hyderabad to 34 runs off the powerplay overs.

With no wickets in the bag and Shikhar Dhawan struggling to pick up boundaries, Rohit Sharma introduced Mitch McClenaghan into the attack. However, instead of bowling to Dhawan, the Kiwi found himself running towards Warner again. The Aussie hit the ball towards long-on for a single and it took a full over before people realized something was wrong.

The umpires have already have had their share or criticism this season especially in the Mumbai-Kolkata game where three wrong decision almost cost the home side the game. Such incidents are easily avoidable and raise unnecessary questions about the quality of officiating in the biggest cricket league in the world.
