WATCH | MS Dhoni smashes Bhuvneshwar Kumar to literally every corner of the ground

MS Dhoni was going through a lean patch in the current IPL season but it seems that the criticism has had no effect on the former Indian captain's mindset. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was on the receiving end when Dhoni turned the tables on the SRH side with a breath-taking innings to secure an RPS victory.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been the most trusted bowler for David Warner who has given him the opportunity to bowl the all-important penultimate over in every game. And Kumar has never let his skipper down providing brilliant bowling spells in the death overs that have been instrumental in securing victories for the SRH side over and over again. However, today Kumar came up against an inspired MS Dhoni who took him to the cleaners en route to earning his team maximum points.

Needing 30 runs in the last 2 overs, SRH still appeared to be in control and with Warner throwing the ball to Bhuvneshwar, the game looked all but finished, or so SRH thought. MS Dhoni had his eye set on victory and had made his intent clear in the previous over hitting Mohammed Siraj for 10 runs off 2 balls. Kumar started with a wide which was probablyan indicator of the pressure he was under.

The second delivery was a cracker and almost a yorker but Dhoni was in no mood to let the bowler steal the show as he flicked the brilliant delivery between fine leg and deep mid wicket for a boundary.

The second delivery was for Dhoni's taking as it was full and wide outside off stump and the 35-year-old made the most of it by slicing it over the backward point for a boundary. Dhoni was at his explosive best and had no regards for the amazing bowler as the home crowd realized they were about to witness something special.

Undeterred, Bhuvneshwar bowled another fuller length delivery that would have troubled most batsmen, but not the spectacular Dhoni. Once again the helicopter shot was on display in the match as Dhoni got underneath the delivery and smacked it for another flat six as the former Pune captain brought up his 50 in style.

The Pune duo managed to squeeze out 19 runs of the Bhuvneshwar over and finished the game with a boundary by none other than Dhoni. The 10th edition of IPL just got even better and we hope to see more of the Dhoni which the cricketing fans had missed.
