Ravi Shastri praises MS Dhoni’s knock against Sri Lanka

Ravi Shastri has praised MS Dhoni and stated that the former skipper’s experience can never be bought and sold in the market. In the second ODI match of the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, Dhoni played a patient innings and alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar, helped India track down the total.

MS Dhoni has been under a lot of scrutiny as he failed to perform in the 50-over format and failed to take India home in the fourth ODI against West Indies despite staying for more than 34 overs. But his latest performance gave all the answers to his critics as coming in at 131 for 7 in the second ODI in Pallekele, when some of the Indian fans lost their hopes, Dhoni (45) along with Bhuvaneshwar Kumar (53) changed the whole scenario.

They played two patient innings as India didn’t lose any more wickets before registering a three-wicket win in the game. Dhoni not only kept his nerves in control under pressurise situation but also guided Kumar in a crucial moment. They built a 100-run partnership to turn the game around in India's favour. The win helped India take a 2-0 lead in the five match series against the Lankan Lions. Expressing his happiness on the result, Team India’s head coach Shastri praised Dhoni on social media.

Stating that Dhoni's experience is invaluable for the team, Shastri tweeted,
