MS Dhoni still has cricket left in him, Indian team lucky to have him, says Ajinkya Rahane

In Rajkot, Dhoni scored 49 runs off 37 balls at a strike-rate of 132.43 but his first 25 runs had come at a run-a-ball, which eventually took the asking rate beyond 15 runs an over. The former Indian captain struggled to hit the big shots against the spinners while at the same time, Kohli struck a brisk half-century. Dhoni's innings drew a lot of flak from some former Indian players including VVS Laxman and Ajit Agarkar, who went as far as to suggest Dhoni to call it quits from the shortest format of the game. However, riding on firm support of the team management, the wicket-keeper batsman has returned to his explosive best yet again, answering his critics aptly. Now, the former world-cup winning captain has got support from Rahane as well.

"Definitely MS Dhoni has cricket left in him. He is taking care of his fitness, he is looking after his body, he is looking after his diet I mean and also his advices on the field to Virat is such a big difference," Rahane told India Today.

Earlier, Virat Kohli has castigated all those criticizing MS Dhoni stating that the former Indian skipper was a target of some unfair criticism and opined that it was unfair to single out Dhoni and hailed his former skipper as a valuable lower-order batsman, keeper, and an astute tactical leader.

Dhoni has been a shining light in the middle-order this year, scoring 788 runs in 29 ODIs at an average of 60.61 with one hundred and six half-centuries. In 13 T20 Internationals the right-handed batsman has amassed 252 runs at an average of 42 with the highest score of 56.
