Chris Gayle slams Melbourne Renegades over non-payment issue
West Indies' Chris Gayle has slammed his former Big Bash team Melbourne Renegades for not paying his money even after almost a year. Gayle was released from his contract and was fined $10,000 for making suggestive comments to a lady broadcaster in a post-innings interview last year.
Gayle was suspended from the BBL for his suggestive statements to Channel-10 female host Mel McLaughlin on live television last year. Subsequently, the West Indian had to face a lot of criticism from all quarters ending with his team, Melbourne Renegades, fining him $10,000 as disciplinary action and not renewing the contract. The player also was apparently not paid according to his contract for the controversial season.
Today, Gayle took to Twitter to slam the Renegades over the non-payment issue and asked them to send his money as soon as possible.

But, it is not the first time that the Caribbean swashbuckler has taken a dig at Australia in a bizarre social media post. Gayle marked the one-year anniversary of last summer’s controversy by calling on Australia to “lighten the ph**k up” on social media.
Gayle had also posted an Instagram video on Wednesday poking fun at the reaction that followed his comments to then-Channel 10 host Mel McLaughlin, which had subsequently been deleted from his account.
