After Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni turned back time with astonishing centuries to set up India’s win in the second ODI against England in Cuttack on Thursday, Twitterati, especially Indian cricket followers, waited for one man’s reaction. Virender Sehwag, a hit on twitter for his wit, did not fail.

“Only old notes are out of circulation.Great knocks from @YUVSTRONG12 and @msdhoni,” Sehwag tweeted, referring to demonetisation.

Yuvraj and Dhoni put on 256 runs for the fourth wicket to lift India to 381 after having been reduced to 25/3 by the fifth over.

“This man has defeated Cancer. Today he only defeated the English bowlers. Everyone can learn not to give up. Proud of you @YUVSTRONG12 #INDvEng,” Sehwag further tweeted with a photograph of Yuvraj in hospital bed from the cancer-fighting days.

Yuvraj also recollected his fight against cancer at the post-match news conference.

“It feels great, it’s been a while since I got a hundred. I came back after recovering from cancer, the first two-three years were very hard. I had to work hard on my fitness and I was in and out of the team. I was not able to get a permanent spot,” said the southpaw whose previous ODI appearance was in December 2013.

“There was a time when I was wondering whether to continue or not to continue. I think a lot of people have helped me throughout this journey. Never giving up is my theory. So I never gave up, kept working hard. I knew time will change.”
