Virat Kohli injury worse than it looks, claims Michael Clarke

Virat Kohli picked up an injury during the first day of the third Test in Ranchi while attempting to stop a boundary. The Indian captain landed awkwardly on his shoulder and had to be taken off the field for treatment. Kohli returned to action in India's first innings but failed to have a major impact with the bat. 

Clarke has now come out and claimed that India have hidden the "true extent" of Kohli's injury.

"It was very important for him to be on the field," Clarke told foxsports.com.au.

"The Indian physio, Patrick Farhart, is trying to manage his shoulder injury as much as he possibly can. I think it's actually a lot worse than people know or that Virat is leading on. I think he's trying to do everything he can to get out onto the park because he knows how important it is as captain to lead from the front. He certainly deserves credit for doing that. I think he'll be 100 per cent fit for the next Test match."

At the end of the first Day's play, Kohli was taken to the hospital and reports suggested that Kohli had been advised to take a 10-day break from cricket. He even took the field for Australia's second innings but appeared to be in some discomfort.
