In the latest ICC T20 rankings, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has secured the number one spot while the Indian team is on the fifth spot in the shortest format, with New Zealand sitting at the pinnacle. Bumrah also climbed to a career-best third position in the latest ODI rankings on Monday.

Having the top T20 bowler Jasprit Bumrah, according to the latest ICC T20 Rankings, on their side, fifth-ranked team India have a chance to climb to the second position if they succeed in beating New Zealand in the three-match T20I series, which is scheduled to begin from Wednesday. Bumrah rose to the top spot in T20 rankings, despite not playing any games recently, after Pakistan spinner Imad Wasim slipped one place. Bumrah also clinched his career-best third position in the latest ODI rankings.

In the team rankings, If India succeed in defeating New Zealand in the upcoming series, Pakistan will top the standings.

Currently, New Zealand is on top in the shortest format with 125 points but Pakistan, after a 3-0 win in the series against Sri Lanka in Lahore on Sunday, have closed in to within a point.

India is currently at the fifth spot with 116 points and can go northwards to the second position if they manage to secure a 3-0 win over New Zealand, which will get them to 122 points.

In such a scenario, the top spot will be grabbed by Pakistan with their tally of 124 points with New Zealand going all the way down to 114 points and fifth position.

Even if India win the forthcoming series 2-1, it will be enough for Pakistan to move to the top with New Zealand falling to 121 points.
