On the back of some impressive performances against Sri Lanka, MS Dhoni has entered the top-10 in the ODI rankings, for the first time since January 2016. The biggest gainer in the rankings, however, is Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah who jumped 27 places to land at the No.4 spot on the table.

Before the start of the ODI series, against Sri Lanka, critics had questioned Dhoni’s form and some even suggested that his time in international cricket was over. Dhon seems to be back to his best scoring 162 runs in four innings without giving away his wicket even once. Not only did he create history by earning the highest number of not outs in cricketing history, Dhoni also became the first player to affect a century of stumpings.

The 36-year-old's performances were rewarded in the recently released ICC batting ranking where he back in the top-10. He currently shares the tenth spot with New Zealand’s Martin Guptill with 749 rating points.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli not only managed to hold onto the No.1 spot but also increased his lead over David Warner to 26 points with 887 rating points. AB de Villiers, Joe Root, and Babar Azam completed the top five in the rankings.

In the ODI series against Sri Lanka, Bumrah got total 15 wickets which included his career best figures of 5/27 which he claimed in the third ODI at Pallekelle. He also bagged the man of the series award for his fantastic performance throughout the series.

Owing to the consistent performances, Bumrah jumped an incredible 27 place to reach a career high 4th spot.  Apart from Bumrah, Axar Patel, too, managed to enter the top-10 with 645 rating points.
