Virat Kohli has dropped to 5th place in the latest ICC Test rankings, after scoring just 161 runs in 4 innings against Sri Lanka, With David Warner replacing him in the top-5. Meanwhile, Nathan Lyon reached career-best eighth position after claiming 22 wickets in two Tests against Bangladesh.

Kohli, who led the Indian cricket team in the recently concluded Sri Lanka tour where they inflicted 3-0 whitewash in the Test series, faced a one position loss in the ICC Test rankings. He has now slipped to the sixth spot with 806 points. He was replaced by Australian opener Warner, who produced two back to back centuries in the Test series against Bangladesh and managed one point extra than the Indian skipper.

Australian skipper Steve Smith held the top position at the top with 936 points followed by England captain Joe Root, Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson. Cheteshwar Pujara and KL Rahul managed to claim their position in the top 10 as they are spotted at the fourth and tenth position on the list respectively.

In the bowlers' rankings, Lyon got the big reward of his latest performance in the Test series against Bangladesh as he entered on the top-10 list and spotted on career-best 8th position. Bangladesh won the first Test of the series but in the second and final match, Lyon claimed a career-best figure of 13/154 which helped Australia to level the series.

On the other hand, another Indian player Ravindra Jadeja maintained the No.1 Test bowler spot. James Anderson, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rangana Herath and Josh Hazelwood completed the top-5 on the list.

Shakib Al Hasan didn’t disappoint his team whether they needed him as a batsman or a bowler which helped him to strengthen his top position in the ICC all-rounders ranking. Jadeja and Ashwin hold the second and third spot respectively in the list.

India continued to be at the top of the ICC Test rankings with 125 points but Australia slipped one position and landed on fifth.
