A combined bowling unit effort, coupled with the fantastic half-centuries by Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni helped India beat Australia by 26 runs in the first match of the ODI series. Twitterati showered their praise on the duo while also trolling India's unusual top-order collapse.

Brief scores: India 281/7 (Hardik Pandya 83, MS Dhoni 79; Nathan Coulter-Nile 3/44, Marcus Stoinis 2/54) beat Australia 137/9 (Glenn Maxwell 82, David Warner 51*; Yuzvendra Chahal 3/30) by 26 runs (DLS).

Can’t argue with that.

Called the shots too early, this lad!

Of course, that didn’t last long.

If you find it, let us know too.

Why need Baba, when you have Thala

Hardik Pandya played a huge role in the rain today

At least they didn’t have to bear with this wait for the rain to stop! Arrgh!

Meanwhile, Chennai is already prepping for the next IPL

Hard to disagree!

“OMG, my eyes. They are burning”

Even the gods can’t make this rain stop! Impossible!
