India vs England | Day 4 may crush England’s spirits as light rain predicted throughout
After letting England take the control of the Test, India can now breathe a sigh of relief as Weather.com forecasted light drizzle throughout the day. Yesterday, Chris Woakes and Jonny Bairstow took the game away from India’s grasp completely and now nothing other than rain can save India.
The first two days of the second Test between India and England were severely affected by rain before James Anderson along with his partner Chris Woakes wrecked havoc in the last couple of hours to bowl India out for a paltry score of 107 runs. In reply, Woakes and Bairstow put up a magnificent show on the third day to help the hosts get to a score of 357/6, a lead that stands at 250 at the moment.
However, England’s spirit may get dampened today as the light rain predicted in London could force the game to be delayed, or at worse, the day to be abandoned. Starting from English time 11.00 AM which is the time of the match to start to 21.00 EST, it is predicted to rain throughout and despite the amazing drainage facilities of the venue, it may create a hindrance in England’s rampant run.
With a 250-run lead already in the bag, if the match happens, England may give an early bird declaration to expose India’s batting once again under the cloudy skies.
