Mark Wood has admitted that he can’t wait to get started with the upcoming season of the IPL and is looking forward to learning a lot from the likes of MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo. The injury-prone English pacer has also added that he is accustomed to the pressure of leading the bowling attack.

The Chennai Super Kings franchise are making their return to the IPL after a gap of 2 years, before which they were considered to be the most complete team in the tournament. But after a surprising auction outing, the CSK team ended up with the oldest squad in the league. However, Mark Wood would have been a welcome addition to the side who have previously boasted the likes of Doug Bollinger, Ben Hilfenhaus and others. The England International admitted that he cannot wait to get started and learn from legends like MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo.

"I think learning to cope in pressure situations can only help. And picking the brains of some of the legends of the game... MS Dhoni as my captain will provide a great insight and I would love to work with (Dwayne) Bravo and develop my slower ball," Wood told PTI.

The highly-rated player from Durham is popular for clocking deliveries at a pace of 140 kmph with consistency. Wood said that he is a kind of player who thrives under pressure rather than one who succumbs to it.

"Of course there is pressure but that's what really switches you on," the English cricketer said.

"It might not go your way every time but if you give everything you've got and commit to every ball, then, hopefully, you come out on the right side more often than not," Wood added.

CSK head coach Stephen Fleming felt that Wood would be a good buy for the IPL as he was on the look-out for a bowler who bowls at a pace of 140 kmph consistently. Wood himself is excited to step onto the field in the yellow jersey as a CSK player and claimed that it would be a proud moment for him.

"It will be an immensely proud moment for me to play for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL,"

"Not only is the IPL a great competition but I also get to play for the best team! Who wouldn't want that? I'm very lucky and hope to be a match-winner for my team," Wood added.
