New Zealand coach, Mike Hesson has heaped praises on Kane Williamson and included him in his list of current top five batsmen in the world. Hesson stated that Kiwi captain has the skill and will to adapt to any format and relies on timing rather than hitting the ball hard to score runs.

The orthodox SRH captain, Kane Williamson, has led the team from the front and has been brilliant with the bat. He has been a pillar for SRH in the middle, scoring 410 runs in 10 matches, filling David Warner's shoes aptly. And Hesson has rightly praised him as that batsman, who has the skills and will to perform and who could adapt to any format of the game and consistently.

"Any quality batsman, if they have got the skills, will adapt (to) any form of the game and Kane Williamson is no different," Hesson said in the Star Sports Dugout show, ahead of SRH game against the struggling Delhi Daredevils.

He pointed out that Williamson does not look to hit the ball hard and relies on his timing to do the job for him. Applauding Williamson’s brilliance, he called him a good all-round player.

"He does not go out and look to thrash the ball, but he times the ball, gets in good positions and hits where fielders aren't. (He is) an all-round good player," said the 43-year-old Kiwis' coach.

Williamson has scored five half-centuries so far in the IPL this season and his highest score has been 84. Asked whether Williamson was the best batsman in the World, Hesson said, "Look, I wouldn't say that." But he was quick to add him among the top five batsmen of the world at the moment.

"There are four-five (players) who are extremely good. (India and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper) Virat Kohli is one, Joe Root (of England is) exceptionally good. Steve Smith (Australia), Kane Williamson, they are probably the four at the moment around the world, and AB de Villers when he is playing. They are good in different conditions (and) they stand out. It's nice to have a New Zealand batsman as one of those top five," added Hesson.
