BCCI have announced, via a press release, that the Indian bowling trio of Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav will be rested for the third T20I against the Windies. Rohit Sharma & Co. take on Windies in the third and final ODI on Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

India registered a resounding win in the second T20I against Windies in Lucknow, courtesy of a brilliant century from stand-in skipper - Rohit Sharma. In doing so, the Men in Blue secured the series win after they made their way to a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. This offered the home team a chance to rest their key players and offer some game time to fringe players in the T20I squad.

As a result, the BCCI have revealed that the Indian bowling trio of Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav would play no part in the upcoming third and final T20I on Sunday. SRH bowler, Siddarth Kaul, has been called up to the squad and will fill in for the trio who will miss out in order to remain injury-free ahead of the crucial tour of Australia later this month.

"The Indian team management has decided to rest Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav from the upcoming third Paytm T20I against the Windies in Chennai. The decision has been made to allow the trio to be in the best physical condition ahead of India’s tour to Australia. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has added Siddarth Kaul to India’s squad for the final T20I," the press release stated.

Fringe players such as Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Nadeem and others will look to get some well-deserved game time in order to prove their worth to the Indian selection committee. India will take on the Caribbean outfit in their final match of the tour on Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

India’s squad for the 3rd T20I series against Windies: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Manish Pandey, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Shahbaz Nadeem, Siddarth Kaul
