VIDEO | MS Dhoni plays with time before taking DRS in nick of time

MS Dhoni and DRS share a love story like no other and when the master decides to play with his favourite tool, it has to be a blockbuster. The CSK skipper waited till the very last second and only when the ticker read “Zero”, he went for a review to change the on-field decision.

If CSK are playing, expect an MS Dhoni special behind the stumps or at least with the DRS and the story was no different in Jaipur. Rajasthan may have been drenched by the humid atmosphere, but with the captain cool taking stage, everything was under control, at least for the men in yellow.

On the penultimate delivery of the third over, Deepak Chahar bowled a length delivery and in an attempt to flick it, Rahane shuffled across and ended up missing it altogether. Rahane is not reckoned for this kind of strokes, but after missing it, Dhoni, who had played with Rahane for far too long to judge him, was not actually sure about the plumb dismissal that Chahar was asking for.

Chahar had a lengthy chat with the CSK skipper regarding the line of the dismissal, and Dhoni, as usual, decided not to be too animated while listening to Chahar’s side of the story. Chahar eventually managed to convince his skipper that why should they go for the review, but the latter, instead of going for it straightaway waited until the last second. The decision eventually proved to be right as the replay suggested that the impact was on the middle and the ball-tracking showed that it was hitting the leg stump.
