Everything that MS Dhoni has been praised for throughout his cricketing career, have more or less been questioned this IPL with his fledgling temper making headlines frequently. Sunday saw a glimpse of the same as Captain Cool almost lost it when Ravindra Jadeja was run out after miscommunication.

When the team has lost two consecutive matches for the first time in over a year and the much talked about team chemistry is seen behaving erratically, then it is time to reshuffle things. If there has been any side in the Indian Premier League, whose strength has been the players’ experience and camaraderie with each other, it has been the yellow army.

However, after yet another marauding winning streak this season, the defending champions have hit an impasse; it seems, with back to back defeats against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore. While it wouldn’t be much of a concern as of yet for the side still sits at the top of the table with 14 points, a slight concern would be their shaky synchronization of late.

Sunday witnessed a rare miscommunication between Dhoni and Jadeja, two of the best runners between the wickets in world cricket. It happened in the 19th over, when Navdeep Siani’s delivery saw Dhoni mistiming a pull and initiating a run. Jadeja obeyed his captain’s order only to find Dhoni turning his back on him.

There was no way back for Jadeja and Dhoni was seen screaming in frustration, which was very uncharacteristic of him. However, the skipper knew there and then that things weren’t going his way and it turned out to be true in the end.
