Ben Stokes feels that Rajasthan Royals have failed to win some critical moments and this cost them more as the team currently languishing at the seventh spot on the points table. Stokes has further added that it is the main priority to manage the workload as an all-rounder ahead of the World Cup.

Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Ben Stokes performed his part well while playing for Rising Pune Supergiants in the 10th edition of the cash-rich league with 300 runs and more than 10 wickets. That impressed Rajasthan Royals as they decided to snap him into the squad in 2018 auctions, and has been a mainstay in the team since then.

However,  the world-class all-rounder can't continue his flow in this 12th edition of IPL as he could only manage to score only 112 runs from 8 matches played at an average of 22.4.

On commenting about the performance of their team in the IPL this season, the lanky all-rounder said that the team haven't got what they deserved and failed to perform up to their capability while adding that the team failed to win some critical moments.

"I wouldn't quite say up and down as that would be a bit generous. We haven't performed anywhere near the capabilities that we have. The games we have won, we have won the critical moments and it is a shame that we have managed to do that in just two games. The big thing this year is that we haven't managed to win the critical moments." Stokes was quoted as saying by ToI.

When asked about the Mankading event, the 27-year-old tried to differ from it and acknowledged that they haven't been good enough to manage the situation.

“It is an easy thing to say, but it was just one of the situations that we were unfortunate to be involved in. Saying that it impacted us would be an easy thing to say, but we haven't really mentioned it as such and we just haven't been good enough,” the Englishman said.

As an all-rounder, the Englishman has a tough task to manage workload and must try to give his valuable performance for the team with both bat and ball despite his personal distress. However, he stated that his love and passion for the job is making him move on in his career.

"It is tough as you got to go into training sessions knowing that you have your bowling workload as well as your batting workload. But you get used to it after so many years. The harsh thing about the IPL is the number of games you play in such a short span of time and with all the travel involved. Also, you have to be mindful of the workload because you don't want to overdo it and then injure yourself when you have had a nine-hour travel or things like that. It is taxing, but I wouldn't want to change anything about what I do," he pointed.
