Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite has revealed that the franchise doesn’t have any leadership group as such and everyone shares knowledge and expertise. The Windies T20I captain also cleared that there haven’t been any problems in the KKR camp with smiles and fun seen in training.

It is the second season since the mega-auction, which saw some significant changes in the two-time champions’ team and operations, and questions are finally been asked of the franchise. After starting the season quite well, KKR have slumped to five consecutive defeats with every match a must-win one from now on.

Brathwaite, who was purchased for Rs. 5 crores at the last auction and has played just one match for KKR so far, and has been of the opinion that there are no leadership groups in the side and everyone has been sharing their input from time to time.

"I guess we don't have a leadership group as such. I've been speaking in team meetings, speaking to the coach, the captain, the manager. I think leadership is natural. I see myself as one. I share knowledge and try to lend my expertise on whatever little I can," said Brathwaite ahead of KKR’s match against Rajasthan Royals on Thursday, reported TOI.

"I don't know if you had the chance to watch our practice. There were a lot of smiles and a lot of fun," he also added.

The Windies T20I captain’s purchase at the auction was highly criticized by one and all since the all-rounder has been quite underwhelming in the competition. Brathwaite has played 15 matches over four seasons managing to make 176 runs and take 13 wickets in them. However, he stated that his role wouldn’t change in any team.

"My way of operation is the same regardless of which team I play for," Brathwaite concluded.
