Jonty Rhodes and the incumbents, including the under-pressure Sanjay Bangar, appeared for interviews conducted with regard to the Indian team's support staff selection on Tuesday. The MSK Prasad-led committee had completed a total of 18 interviews for batting and bowling coaches on Monday.

Former South Africa star Rhodes appeared for the interview via Skype, while Englishman Julian Fountain and Abhay Sharma appeared in person, for interviews to the position of fielding coach. Fountain has experience with working with Bangladesh and Pakistan, while Abhay has been coaching the India A team.

Meanwhile, the three incumbent candidates in the three departments – Sanjay Bangar, Bharat Arun, and R Sridhar – appeared for the interview via video conferencing as well, as they are with the Indian team on tour. While both Arun and Sridhar are strong favourites to hold onto their jobs, Bangar is facing tough competition from former India players Vikram Rathour and Pravin Amre. The former India all-rounder has been with the team since 2014, during which India has played 50 Tests and 119 ODIs.

The process is expected to be completed only by Thursday after all the interviews for various positions are done with.
