Reports | Livid Jay Shah requests officials for Bhuvneshwar Kumar injury reports

After missing the months of September and October completely due to injury, Bhuvneswar Kumar returned to cricket via the Syed Mushtaq Ali last month and then was subsequently picked in the T20I squad versus the Windies. The pacer played all three games in the series, picking up 2 wickets, but post the series, it was revealed that he had picked up yet another injury, meaning he would miss the entirety of the ODI series.

And now, according to a report by Times of India, the Indian quick had been nursing a 'sports hernia' injury which shockingly went undetected at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), despite three separate scans. Following his 'rehab', Bhuvneshwar was rushed back to cricket - first Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and then the West Indies series - and now, due to the aggravation of the injury, the pacer is set to go under the knife, due to which he is set to miss 2 months of cricketing action.

Sources have now revealed that BCCI secretary Jay Shah is livid with the officials for their ignorance and has requested concerned officials and staff to hand over to him all the medical reports, injury history and rehab details of Bhuvneshwar.

“He (Jay Shah) clearly wants to get to the bottom of everything at the NCA. Somebody needs to take a good look at how the country’s premier academy has been rotting at all levels,” a source told Times of India.

The source further threw dirt about the academy, it's officials and its tainted hiring process and requested the BCCI to look into the matter and solve the escalating issues.

"There are individuals who have been hired on a permanent basis at the NCA without even having to undergo interviews for the job. Worse, those who went through interviews have been handed contracts. BCCI should look into the cases of individuals who have lied in their joining letters regarding conflict and have taken permanent jobs despite serious conflicts and are drawing fat salaries."
