New Zealand opener Tim Seifert has stated that he isn't worried too much regarding World Cup 2019 selection. Seifert knocked the Indian bowlers all around the park as his 43-ball 84 laid the foundation for New Zealand's 219 making him one of the strong contenders for the opening slot.

After going after the Indian bowlers during the first T20I, New Zealand batsman Tim Seifert has come up saying that he isn't losing his sleep over World Cup chances after showcasing a brilliant 43-ball 84 against a formidable Indian side. Tim has asserted that he has enough time with him to work on his game and make himself prepared enough to be the part of the tournament.

“I just go out, do what I do, and hey, if that gets me over the line, brilliant, you know, but still being young, you know, (I've) still got time on my side, Don't get me wrong, I want to be at this World Cup, but if I get there, fantastic, it's a dream come true, but if it's not then there are things to work on and get to the next one," Seifert said after the first T20I.

Tim being a self-confessed fan and follower of one of all-time greats of New Zealand Brendon McCullum, said that he watched and followed the former skipper while growing up, ”Yeah, obviously. I'd be lying if I said Baz (McCullum) wasn't one of my heroes growing up, obviously, you try to be yourself out there, but I definitely have looked at Baz throughout my childhood.”

During his blistering innings of 84, Tim smashed six sixes and seven fours which also included a switch hit to Krunal Pandya's left arm spin, elaborating about this shot, Seifert said, "I kind of just looked at the field and, you know, it's all in the moment. I don't really practice it or anything, it's just kind of in the spirit of it, but I just thought of his angle, and obviously got him slog-sweeping a couple of times, so I thought he maybe might slow it up. Yeah, it's kind of a little punt you take, but it's T20 cricket for you.”
