The International Cricket Council (ICC) has said that there is "no indication" the World Cup match between India and Pakistan on June 16 will not be played as scheduled. There are some doubts on the game after the recent terror attacks in Pulwama as many in India wants BCCI to boycott the game.

After the Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir where more than 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed on February 14, Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) took the responsibility of it. Since then, there has been a growing demand in India of boycotting the World Cup match against Pakistan.

However, the international body has said that there are no such doubts and it will monitor the situation with the member national boards.

"We will be monitoring the situation with our members. Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this terrible incident. Sport, in particular cricket, has the wonderful ability to bring people together and unite communities and we will work with our members going forward on this basis,” the ICC said as reported by BBC.

"There is no indication that any matches at the World Cup will not go ahead as planned."

Earlier this month, the BCCI had requested ICC to cut ties with “countries from which terrorism emanates". The Indian skipper Virat Kohli had also said that the team will stand by the decision that will be taken by the BCCI and Government of India in respect to the game against Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup.

Meanwhile, for 25,000 tickets available for the game, the organisers have received around five lakh requests.
