Members of the Indian cricket board have come out and accused the Committee of Administrators of taking decisions in a biased manner in the Hardik Pandya-KL Rahul controversy. Pandya and Rahul have been suspended until an enquiry is completed for the comments they made in a television show.

After a meeting held by the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) members, they have come out all guns blazing and have criticized the way the Committee of Administrators have been going about their business. In their first allegation, the Indian cricket board has accused the two members of CoA for not being on the same page for any decisions made as a body.

“The members expressed shock at the manner in which decision making was happening in the CoA where the decisions and views of one member were being ignored and the decisions of the other were being executed irregularly despite there being a deadlock in decision making on such decisions. The members were concerned about the resources of the BCCI being wrongfully expended on such irregular decisions being taken,” BCCI members stated to TNN.

The BCCI members had a long list of allegations which also included an accusation of bias on the part of the CoA body. The BCCI member compared two recent incidents pertaining to the Indian cricketing body. They stated that in light of their recent comments, while Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul have been suspended within days of their crass comments made on a television show, the same was not the case in sexual allegation on BCCI Chief Executive Officer Rahul Johri, where the CEO was “not even suspended”

“The members expressed shock at the double standards on display in dealing with issues related to players where show cause notices have been issued and the players have been suspended pending inquiry and in dealing with issues relating to the CEO who was not even suspended and in whose case the inquiry procedure adopted was arbitrary and in violation of the BCCI’s constitution and in the absence of any decision from the CoA as a committee.”

The meeting of the BCCI comes at an important juncture as the much-awaited Supreme Court hearing in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) matter is coming up on January 17.
