Harbhajan Singh has stated that by suspending the duo of Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul for the time being, the Indian cricket board has taken a step in the right direction. Pandya and Rahul have faced flak for their crass comments on Koffee with Karan talk show, which was aired a few days ago.

Criticism has come thick and fast for Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya and opener KL Rahul after their sexist and racist comments on a television show a few days ago. Recently, they were also sent a show cause notice to which they had replied promptly. However, unsatisfied with the players’ response, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) recommended BCCI officials to have the duo suspended pending enquiry.

Following the development, former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has come out and slammed the players. He has also supported the suspension of both the players by the BCCI, following which they won't be able to play in the ongoing Australia series and the upcoming New Zealand series.

"Pandya has been in the team for how long to talk of the team culture in the manner he did. I think this is the way to go. The BCCI did the right thing, and this is also the way forward. This was expected and I am not surprised," he responded to PTI when asked about the suspension.

In the television in response to a hosts' query, Pandya had boasted about how he hooked up with multiple women and how his parents were really cool with it. While the all-rounder also said that how he liked to observe girls at bar or nightclub, Rahul was relatively subdued in his responses.

"We don't talk about all this even with our friends and they were talking on public television. Now people might think was Harbhajan Singh like this, was Anil Kumble like this and was Sachin Tendulkar..." Harbhajan told India Today.
