Has there ever been a game with Sarfraz Ahmed not entertaining the fans with his set of theatrics? He decided to pull off one today when a single was on and he was closer to finish it, but he went back, leaving Pakistan to be satisfied with four overthrow runs where it could have been five.

Sarfraz Ahmed had his own unique way of entertaining his fans and today, during his course to the fastest half-century of his career, he ensured that his fans, which are very loyal by the way, wouldn’t get bored. On the last delivery of the 46th over, Jofra Archer bowled a short ball to the Pakistan skipper and the latter was just happy to slash it to the point region where Joe Root was stationed.

After hitting the ball, Ahmed instantly set off for a fun and almost completed it, when Root attempted to throw the ball back to the keeper. However, there was a confusion between Ahmed and Asif Ali and when Root was throwing the ball back to the striker’s end, Sarfraz decided to run back, despite being so close to finishing the run.

Thankfully for him, there was no one backing up for the run-out and the ball raced to the backward square-leg boundary for a four. While that was a bonus, it could definitely have been five had the duo completed the run among themselves.
