After the emphatic win against Pakistan on Sunday, the Indian team will be rewarded with a two-day rest period before their next game against Afghanistan on Saturday. India are third on the ICC World Cup 2019 table behind New Zealand who are ahead due to a higher net run-rate after three games.

The Virat Kohli-led team India preserved their unbeaten run at the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 after they comprehensively defeated Pakistan by 89 runs (DLS method) in Manchester. As a result, the Men in Blue moved up to third place in the tournament standings ahead of hosts - England.

The Indian team will be rewarded with a much needed two-day rest period after last night's emphatic win after which they will prepare for the match against Afghanistan on Saturday. Kohli & Co. have a tally of seven points after wins against South Africa, Australia and Pakistan. The match against New Zealand had to be abandoned without a ball being bowled as a result of which both teams were awarded one-point each.

India captain, Virat Kohli, was proud of his players after yesterday's win as he singled out opener Rohit Sharma and spinner Kuldeep Yadav for special praise.

“Rohit’s knock was outstanding today. He again showed today why he is such a good ODI player. Kuldeep was brilliant. Those guys were only trying to play him out. A longer spell helped in that situation and he was getting into rhythm. They were thinking that he would go out of the attack sooner rather than later.

“That ball to dismiss Babar (Azam) was just outstanding with the drift, the turn and just beating the batsman batting so well. This is the best he has been bowling since coming to England and, him confident with Chahal, is going to be an important factor for us in the tournament,” Kohli said at a post-match interview.

Just like batting, running between the wickets swiftly is also an art, which not many manage to master. As a mix-up between Hetmyer and Shai Hope looked bad for the latter, the former offered to sacrifice his wicket but Bangladesh messed up the chance as Saifuddin threw a mile away from the target.
