Reports | Indian team management complain of privacy violation in Birmingham hotel

According to reports by HT, there were three guests who had allegedly violated the team’s privacy and even clicked photos of the family members of the Indian team members without permission at around 4:30 pm, as complained by the team. 

Things escalated and the same guests were even seen shouting and turning aggressive in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency. The management has prompted the hotel to declare them persona non grata - unacceptable or unwelcome person - the report further said.

The guests have reportedly been warned by the hotel authorities for their behaviour around the cricketers with Virat Kohli and Co. being promised complete privacy during their stay in Birmingham. Apart from the hotel security, the ICC has also given additional security personnel in the hotels of all the participating teams.

“Inappropriate conduct would lead to an immediate check-out, without a second warning,” said a well-placed source of The Telegraph.

The Virat Kohli-led side are just a win away from securing a semi-final spot in the World Cup and would be playing England, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka in the group stage. With England being in danger of missing the knockouts on their own soil, Sunday’s match is expected to be exciting.
