Sarfaraz Ahmed was not having the best of days behind the stumps in the must-win encounter against Afghanistan and the mediocrity continued to haunt him till the end of the innings. The Pakistani skipper tried to pull off a no-look run out, for which MS Dhoni is renowned for, but failed terribly.

Afghanistan did reasonably well to counter the Pakistani threat and had a decent amount of runs on the board to battle for. After making a mess of an easy catch earlier in the innings, Sarfaraz’s bad day at the office continued till the very last ball of the innings. The innings was almost done and dusted and there was no need to do anything fancy but Sarfaraz had other ideas.

On the final delivery of the 50th over, Mujeeb Ur Rahman hit the ball towards long-on and charged for a double off Mohammed Amir’s bowling. He was struggling for the second, which brought keeper Sarfaraz in play. He collected the ball cleanly but decided to pull off the no-look run out. However, he failed miserably as the throw went haywire.

The mishap didn’t cost Pakistan an extra run, which it should have, as Mujeeb collided with the keeper and was lying on the ground. With some decent runs on the board, Afghanistan would look to give Pakistan batsmen a run for their money.
