Umesh Yadav has stated that he is disappointed with his performance for Royal Challengers Bangalore in this season of the Indian Premier League. Yadav had consistently struck for RCB in the powerplay overs in the last season but he has failed to bowl in the right areas this time.

The last six months have not been very good for Umesh Yadav. He has had sporadic appearances for India and even in the Indian Premier League, he has had a contrasting campaign for Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the previous season, he had scalped 20 wickets in 14 games but this season he only has eight wickets in ten games to his name. The Vidarbha pacer has been unable to strike wickets in the powerplay overs and feels that he has not performed well for the team.

“Last time I was the highest wicket taker for RCB and this year it’s not happening for me and so definitely I am feeling bad because I haven’t been able to perform for the team,” expressed the 31-year-old, reported Cricketnext.

“Sometimes too many things are going on inside the head, sometimes it’s the confidence. My rhythm also hasn’t been at its best,” he added.

Navdeep Saini was picked up by RCB for 3 crore rupees in the auction and it seems to be a good purchase. The 26-year-old has consistently clocked over 140 kmph and has even touched the 150 kmph mark quite a few times. The Delhi fast bowler has scalped nine wickets in 12 games so far but looks like a fine prospect in the future for the franchise as well as India. Umesh was also left impressed with Saini’s exploits.

“Navdeep is a good fast bowler and he wants to keep learning. After a long time we have seen a bowler who can bowl at 150 km/h and has good lengths as well. His future is very bright and the way he’s playing cricket and learning, he has a bright future ahead,” Yadav signed off.
