IPL 2019 | I only abused Trent Boult a bit for dropping the catch, reveals Amit Mishra

Amit Mishra was in red hot form against their final group stage encounter against Rajasthan Royals. He spun a series of web around Royals’ batsmen and did everything right to scalp his fourth hat-trick of the season, but it wasn’t to be. Boult dropped a catch that denied Mishra from achieving a record fourth hat-trick in the history of IPL. Mishra finished with figures of 3 for 17 in his quota of overs to dismantle Royals batting line-up.

“I don’t know about the love affair between the IPL and me but I was disappointed about missing out on the hat-trick. I only abused Boult a bit after that and told him he need not have jumped because it was a pretty simple catch. I always try to bowl my stock ball more, because that is important to build pressure,” Mishra said, reported TimesNow.

Mishra hasn’t picked a lot of wickets this season as batsmen have not looked to attack him. In nine games so far, Mishra has scalped 14 wickets with his wily leg-spin and helped Delhi finish with nine wins in group stages. 

“I didn't get a lot of wickets this season because batsmen are trying to play me out. Actually, I haven't spoken to the groundsmen, but we would like to play on better wickets. But it's probably because of the weather that we have pitches like these. Before going, I would like to thank the crowd - thanks so much for coming and keep supporting us,” Mishra added. 

Delhi Capitals have made it to the playoff for the first since 2012 and will be the team to beat in the playoffs.
