Prithvi Shaw scored a fantastic 63 off just 39 balls on his comeback after being banned for doping charges and after reaching his fifty, he gestured to the crowd that he lets his bat do the talking. Shaw has suffered a lot of criticism lately, which has in turn led him to come up with the gesture.

Prithvi Shaw had started his international career with a bang against the West Indies at home as he became the youngest player to score a hundred on Test debut. He was destined to be India’s mainstay at the top of the order and was all set to open for India in their Test series Down Under. But unfortunately, he got injured in the warm-up game which led to him being ruled out of the entire Test series.

Things took a turn for the worse as Shaw was banned for doping and was unable to play cricket till November. The likes of Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma have grabbed the opportunity that has come their way and have struck mammoth hundreds to firmly seal their spots in the team.

Shaw was heavily criticized by the fans and has been down the pecking order as his decline coincided with the rise of other youngsters like Agarwal and Gill. Shaw had tweeted a few days ago that a new Prithvi will emerge out of the ban and as he was eligible to play from November 17, he was included in Mumbai’s starting eleven against Assam in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. He slammed 63 off just 39 balls hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes and announced his arrival in style.

When he reached his fifty, he made a special gesture to the crowd which showed that he lets his bat do the talking. This gesture has since gone viral and Shaw has announced himself back on the national stage. With more consistent performances like these, the 20-year-old can make a case for himself again to be included in the national team setup.

Here's how Indian fans on Twitter are reacting on Prithvi Shaw's comeback:

Let the bat do the talking!

What a comeback!

That's how you di it!

Announced his return in style!

Welcome back Shaw!

Absolutely!
