NZ vs ENG | Jack Leach hospitalised after complaining of gastroenteritis
England spinner Jack Leach has been admitted to a hospital as he faced a gastroenteritis problem during the second Test match against New Zealand. The left-arm spinner, who wasn’t included in the playing XI, felt unwell towards the end of the first session’s play on day two of the Test.
Left-arm spinner Jack Leach has been hospitalised, during the second and final Test, with a bout of gastroenteritis. Leach felt uneasy towards the end of the first session’s play on day two of the match as he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
"It's quite worrying news but we've got great medical staff to look after him," said England bowler Stuart Broad.
Leach, who wasn’t a part of the playing XI for the match, is supposed to stay at the hospital for the night. Leach made way for Chris Woakes in the side as England went for an all pace attack as they took over New Zealand at the Sedona Park in Hamilton.
Leach, who had quite an eventful Ashes back at home having bagged 12 wickets in 4 matches, had returned with figures of 2-153 at the Bay Oval, on a pitch that assisted spinners where England were handed an emphatic innings defeat.
