Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have appointed David Hussey as their chief mentor, while also roping in Kyle Mills as their bowling coach. The Kolkata-based franchise also announced in August that Brendon McCullum was going to take over as Head Coach from the departing Jacques Kallis.

The revamp of personnel within the KKR camp continues to flow as the franchise have now roped in the duo of David Hussey and Kyle Mills as chief mentor and bowling coach for the team. The move comes in the wake of the appointment of Brendon McCullum as head coach after the former New Zealand captain took over the duties from a departing Jacques Kallis.

While Kyle Mills never featured in the IPL in his career, Hussey represented KKR from 2008 to 2010, while also then going on to represent Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Earlier this year, the veteran Aussie was also named as the new head coach of Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Melbourne Stars.

"It's great to welcome David Hussey and Kyle Mills to the Knight Riders Family. They bring a wealth of experience as professionals and are terrific individuals. We are confident that their contribution as part of the think tank of KKR, and to the KKR academy, will be invaluable," said Venky Mysore, CEO and MD of KKR, expressing his delight over the appointment of the duo.

With the auction all set to be held on December 19 in Kolkata, it remains to be seen how much of a part these two men will have going into it, as their input might prove to invaluable for the team.
