Australia put in a stellar performance in the first T20I at Adelaide as they completely bamboozled the Sri Lankans, winning by 134 runs. Aaron Finch was extremely proud of the efforts the boys put in and was particularly happy with the Australian top order firing all cylinders.

"It was a great start, the way Davey (David Warner) played and how Maxi (Maxwell) went from ball one. Our spinners did an amazing job against good players of spin. It was about doing our things really well, we know when your top order fires, we have a lot of power," Finch said in the post-match press conference.

"You always want to start well, a pretty clinical performance," he added.

Sri Lankan skipper Lasith Malinga also shared is views about the match and felt that his bowlers were inconsistent in their lines and lengths and that the batsmen had an improbable task on their hands to chase down the mammoth target.

"Our bowlers didn't find the right line and length. We know how good Australia are. It's a good learning experience for us and the young bowlers. We know its tough conditions and a good team but before the World Cup it's an opportunity for us. We want to complete," he said.

Malinga praised the Aussie pace attack, while also stating that the Lankan batsmen needed to take more responsibility and dish out better performances as this was more or less a dress rehearsal to next year's mega T20 event in Australia.

"They have tall fast bowlers, we have to look how we handle it in the next matches," Malinga concluded.

The two sides will now lock horns in Brisbane on Wednesday in the second of the three T20Is.
